The Vision
More than a shelter. A coordinated place to stabilize lives.
What began as a search to expand PPCS’s Emergency Shelter has grown into the Peter & Paul Community Campus — a multi-phase home for expanded shelter, supportive housing, food, medical care, and services.
The campus continues the service tradition of the former Little Sisters of the Poor facility while creating a more dignified, connected environment for people who are isolated, unhoused, or in crisis.
How the Campus Works

The Community Campus brings the essential parts of stability into one coordinated environment.
Housing
Low-barrier shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing provide safe and affordable living spaces ranging from congregate shelter to single-bedroom apartments.
Food & Medical Care
Wholesome meals and access to medical care on site help clients preserve the mental and physical energy needed to move from surviving to thriving.
Supportive Services
Social workers, occupational therapists, counselors, life skills specialists, and trained staff walk alongside clients on their journey to lifelong stability.
Renovation Plan
Built in phases for long-term impact.
PPCS plans to renovate the facility in phases, beginning with the relocation and expansion of the Emergency Shelter, then filling apartments and continuing to incorporate additional spaces and partners over time.
Phase 1: Saint Jeanne Jugan Shelter
Move and expand the Emergency Shelter from Soulard to the campus, increasing capacity from 60 to 100 beds.
Phase 2: Apartments & Support
Fill campus apartments with people who need housing and supportive services.
Future Phases: Convent Space & Partnerships
Incorporate the former convent space and explore co-located partner services that strengthen client care.
Funding & Campaign
Beyond Shelter Capital Campaign
Extensive renovations are expected to require significant funding. PPCS is raising support through the Beyond Shelter Capital Campaign, including naming opportunities, donor-advised fund gifts, business support, and tax credit opportunities.
