ST. LOUIS – The City of St. Louis is helping unhoused people get back on their feet by putting them to work.
Mayor Tishaura Jones announced that the agency on training and employment will award a $450,000 grant to Peter & Paul Community Services to provide employment for unhoused individuals in St. Louis.
“A program like this is a win for our city. It not only helps the unhoused, (it gives) them access to employment on a path to permanent supported housing…it’s teaching them the skills they need to be whole again,” she said.

The organization has provided care and resources to those in the region for over four decades. Jobs include picking up trash, cutting grass, and working on other public projects.
“We want people to know there is a program out there to put people on the road to prosperity and the skills they need and everything they need to be successful in the program and beyond,” Fredricka McGlown said.
The plan is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.
