In September, Mayor Tishaura Jones visited our new campus to announce a $450,000 grant award to Peter & Paul from the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE). With this funding, we will provide good-paying jobs to 100 individuals living at our shelter. In addition to being paid a livable wage for their work, participants in the program will also get valuable job training and performance-based bonuses and promotion opportunities.

“This jobs program is a win for everyone. The men at our shelter will be able to build skills for future long-term employment, save up for permanent housing, and improve our neighborhoods,” said Shelter Operations Director Teri Dunn.
The jobs program began this month and is funded through September 2025. Forty-six men have signed up for the first round of training and jobs. They will initially focus on work readiness preparation, including building their resume, interview skills, and assessing their areas of interest, before beginning their work in the community.
